Engaging your students: An overview of practical tips and tools available to all lecturers

Overview

The passivity of students in lectures and large group learning and teaching sessions has long been observed and criticised (Exley, 2010). This workshop will expolore the strategies that can actively engage students while also facilitating feedback betwen lecturer and students during the learning experience.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  • Identify suitable strategies to facilitate better student engagement and and participation
  • have an understanding of the need for varied pedagogical strategies
  • Consider the tools that can assist the facilitation of these strategie
