Supervising Undergraduate Dissertations Seminar:

Facilitating the Transition to the Workplace or Further Research

The LTTC is delighted to host this event, which includes a light lunch.

Aim: The aim of this seminar is to share and discuss current good practice in supervising students with new and existing undergraduate research project supervisors with an emphasis on ensuring a smooth transition to the workplace or further study.

‌11am - 1pm: The opening 2 hour workshop will be facilitated by Professor Gina Wisker. Gina is Professor of Higher Education & Contemporary Literature and Head of the Centre for Learning and Teaching at the University of Brighton. She is also the author of the book; "The Good Supervisor".

1pm - 2pm:  Lunch break which will include a poster session on good practice case studies in undergraduate supervision from participants who opt to provide them.

2pm - 3pm:  The  main contributor is our invited speaker, Dr John Dallat, former Head of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, Dundalk Institute of Technology and co-editor of the book "Supervising and Writing A Good Undergraduate Dissertation". He will speak on effective and productive supervisory practice.
