With more than 20,000 students and 2,000 staff based at its city centre campuses, Dublin Institute of Technology is a thriving hub of activity – both academic and social.
It is one of Ireland’s largest and most innovative institutions of higher education and offers programmes across a range of disciplines in its four colleges – Sciences & Health, Engineering & Built Environment, Business and Arts & Tourism – from apprenticeship to PhD levels.
DIT builds on a tradition of excellence established over generations through the provision of pioneering technological higher education through centres such as Kevin Street, Bolton Street and Cathal Brugha Street.
With a focus on enabling students to reach their full potential, the DIT learning environment is a supportive and creative place where staff and students engage in collaborative learning, supported by excellence in teaching.
DIT delivers an excellent academic experience, with a real focus on learning that can benefit you in your career. Our motto is “DIT – it’s a step closer to the real world”. Studying with us, you’ll gain the knowledge and abilities to contribute successfully to an ever-changing world and have adaptable skills to bring with you whether you go on to further study or into the workplace.
For students, there is a wide range of campus activities including sports, social nights, arts, charity work, societies and clubs. There’s something for everyone – no matter what your interests might be.
New Grangegorman campus
DIT has been part of Dublin City for more than 130 years and we have campus locations in Bolton Street, Cathal Brugha Street, Kevin Street, Aungier Street, and Rathmines. Now we are developing a major new campus at Grangegorman in the north inner city which will bring all of our activities together in one location, where students of many disciplines will enjoy a really excellent learning environment.. Since September 2014, the first 1000 students from the creative arts, photography and social science have been located on the new campus and by 2018 that number will grow to 10,000. You are welcome to visit the Grangegorman at any time to see for yourself!
